OC honors Sasser with Christian Business Leader Award
Oklahoma Christian University recently presented its Christian Business Leader of the Year award to entrepreneur and OC alumnus Linda Sasser. The award recognizes a business leader who has demonstrated excellence in the business community and dedication to faith.
Sasser is founder and CEO of Impacting Leaders, a leadership development firm based in Atlanta. Her company works with clients to create and implement a growth plan for their organizational structure and leadership development. Sasser founded Impacting Leaders in 2011 after working for two years with John Maxwell to grow his business brand and launch The John Maxwell Company. Her firm currently develops all corporate content for the John Maxwell brand.
She spoke to OC business students at the School of Business Administration Awards banquet, where she received her award.
“We feel blessed and honored to be able to name Linda Sasser as our outstanding business leader for 2012,” said Phil Lewis, Oklahoma Christian University professor and chair of the School of Business Administration. “She has had a distinguished career with Express Employment Professionals and The John Maxwell Company, and she continues to blaze new trails in her latest entrepreneurial adventure as CEO of Impacting Leaders. She is indeed a distinguished alumnus of Oklahoma Christian University.”
Sasser got her start in business and leadership when she and her husband opened their first Express Personnel Services staffing franchise in Austin in 1989. The couple went on to own and operate five franchised locations in south Texas for nearly 15 years, with their Austin office becoming the top-ranked franchise in the Express system with $28 million in annual revenue.
In 2004, Sasser sold the last of her five staffing franchises and moved to Oklahoma City where she joined Express Services Inc., the franchised staffing firm’s parent company. Serving as the company’s vice president of sales and marketing, she developed and grew several key programs that helped the company reach a record $2 billion in sales during her tenure. She remained there until 2009 when she and her family moved to Atlanta, where Linda joined GiANT Impact and began growing the John Maxwell brand.
Sasser played basketball for Oklahoma Christian after transferring from Cameron University in Lawton. She is a native of Piedmont.
