Oklahoma Christian University recently named David Duncan and Michelle Eggleston to its Board of Trustees. OC’s board now includes 35 active members and 13 life trustees.
“We continue to add talented and dedicated men and women to the Board of Trustees who will be in a position to guide the school into the next generation,” said Don Millican, chair of OC’s Board of Trustees. “We are blessed to have Michelle and David join us in this great endeavor.”
Duncan has been the pulpit minister at Memorial Church of Christ in Houston, Texas, since 2006. Before moving to Houston, he served as the outreach minister at Edmond Church of Christ and as an adjunct instructor at Oklahoma Christian University for seven years.
Duncan and his wife, Barbara, served as missionaries in Brazil from 1992 to 1999. They worked with three other couples in to plant a church in Vitoria, Brazil. He also has had international speaking engagements in Chile, Honduras and South Africa.
Duncan’s additional ministry activities include his service as an adjunct instructor at Houston Graduate School of Theology and as a member of the Board of Trustees for Continent of Great Cities.
Duncan received a B.A. in Bible in 1988 and an M.A. in Ministry in 1991 from Oklahoma Christian University. He received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Houston Graduate School of Theology in 2010. Barbara is a 1989 graduate of Oklahoma Christian.
The Duncans have two girls, Anna Beth and Emma.
Eggleston is a shareholder and attorney for Eggleston & Eggleston in Amarillo, Texas. She practices general business and corporate law, as well as estate planning.
She previously served as an associate attorney at Underwood, Wilson, Berry, Stein & Johnson, practicing school law, health and hospital law, and general business law.
She is active in the Amarillo community and at her local church home, Central Church of Christ. She served as a board member for the Amarillo Education Foundation, currently serves on the board for the Panhandle Branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has led many efforts in diabetes research and awareness.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry appointed her to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors in 2001. She currently serves as vice chairman of the board and as chair of the Rules Ad Hoc Committee.
Eggleston graduated from Oklahoma Christian with a bachelor’s degree in business management in 1986. She earned her juris doctorate with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1992.
She and her husband Jeff (a 1988 Oklahoma Christian graduate) have a daughter, Blakelee, and son, Braden.
