OC announces 17-game women’s soccer schedule for 2013
OKLAHOMA CITY (May 26, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian will play a 17-game women’s soccer schedule in 2013, including nonconference matches against a pair of local rivals, OC coach Randall Robison said Sunday.
The Lady Eagles will open their season at 4 p.m. on Sept. 5 at Central Oklahoma, the first regular-season meeting between the cross-Edmond rivals in several years. That will be the first of eight nonconference games, to go with nine conference games.
With the addition of Rogers State and Lubbock Christian (Texas) to the Heartland Conference for the 2013-14 academic year, the conference has dropped the home-and-home series between league teams. Instead, each Heartland team will play every other conference team only once, with a Saturday-Monday schedule.
After the UCO game, OC will host Bethel (Kan.) at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7, then visit Heartland rival Newman (Kan.) at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 for what will be considered a nonconference game.
The Lady Eagles will host nonconference foe Midwestern State (Texas) at 6 p.m. on Sept. 14 before visiting another local rival, playing at Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17. OC will host St. Gregory’s at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23 and Angelo State at noon on Sept. 28.
OC’s first conference game will be at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 at St. Edward’s (Texas). Two days later, the Lady Eagles will visit McMurry (Texas) for a 2:30 p.m. league game.
The Lady Eagles’ final nonconference game will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 at Texas A&M-Commerce.
OC’s final seven games will be against Heartland foes, starting Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Dallas Baptist (Texas). On Oct. 19, the Lady Eagles will host Texas A&M International at 7:30 p.m. and St. Mary’s (Texas) will visit OC for a 2:30 p.m. game on Oct. 21.
Continuing a four-game homestand, OC will play Rogers State at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 and Newman at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. The Lady Eagles will finish the regular season with road games at Texas-Permian Basin on Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Lubbock Christian on Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
