Music students at Tulsa convention

Four of our music majors have been selected to perform with the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band. Dr. John Fletcher will be traveling with them today to Tulsa, where they will participate alongside students from colleges and universities across the state. They will have intensive rehearsals today and tomorrow, and perform together Thursday afternoon at the annual music educators convention. Our participating music majors are:

Hayley Neff, flute
Julia Yeilding, clarinet
Jay Brasket, euphonium
Kristopher Boys, clarinet

We have a few students selected each year for this honor group, but this will be a first time for each of these four to participate. It’s quite an honor to work under a renowned conductor (this year’s conductor is Frank Battisti from the New England Conservatory of Music), perform with their peers in front of an audience of music professionals, and to
network with potential future graduate schools and employers.

Congratulations to these students!
