Lady Eagles open Florida trip with 6-3 win at Northwood

BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 16, 2013) – Barbora Bozkova, Gisela Castany and Gabriela Carrillo each posted a straight-set singles win as Oklahoma Christian opened its annual spring break trip to Florida with a 6-3 win on Saturday over Northwood (Fla.) at Patch Reef Park.

OC (7-1) took a 2-1 lead over the Seahawks in the doubles matches, with Bozkova and Castany beating Justyna Wojcik and Adelaide Wood 8-4 at the No. 1 position and Carrillo and Maryfer Abreu Roman winning 8-4 at No. 2 over Maria Valentina Souki.

In singles, Bozkova beat Wojcik 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1; Castany downed Valentina Souki 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2; and Carrillo beat Livia Toth 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. Angie Torres Quezada also won for the Lady Eagles at No. 5 singles, beating Julia Ferraz 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

Northwood (4-2) picked up wins at the No. 3 and No. 6 singles positions.

OC will play at No. 4-ranked Barry (Fla.) on Sunday.
