RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian held its second-place position and sophomore Anna Arrese Cortadellas moved up a spot to finish third individually in the Glen Ivy Intercollegiate, which ended Tuesday at The Victoria Club.
OC posted a third-round score of 321 to finish the tournament with a 956 team score, 20 shots behind NCAA Division II No. 9-ranked Grand Canyon (Ariz.), which closed with a 323. The Lady Eagles finished as a tournament runner-up for the eighth time in the program’s two-year history.
OC was 20 shots ahead of third-place Dixie State (Utah), with No. 19 California State-Monterey Bay another eight shots back at 984. Host California Baptist finished last in the five-team field at 1,021.
Arrese Cortadellas shot a 7-over-par 79 on the 5,859-yard layout, one of the oldest golf courses west of the Mississippi River. She finished at 232, 11 shots behind medalist Charlotte Jaengkit of Grand Canyon. Haley Dunn of Dixie State was second individually at 224.
Arrese Cortadellas wasn’t OC’s only high finisher. Sarah Harper closed with a 79 to finish sixth at 236 and Morgan Dockery (83) tied for 11th in the 31-woman field.
Catherine Odgers shot a final-round 88 and finished 17th at 250, while Audrey Meisch fired an 80 – her best round of the tournament – and tied for 18th at 251.
The Lady Eagles will have a three-week break before their next tournament, the Midwestern State Invitational at Wichita Falls, Texas, Country Club on March 18-19.
