HILLSBORO, Kan. (April 16, 2014) – Joshua Jones and Austin Kruzich both ran season-best times in the 200 meters, leading Oklahoma Christian on Wednesday at the Tabor Invitational.
Jones, a freshman from Escondido, Calif., finished 10th among 31 runners in the 200 with a time of 22.69 seconds, with Kruzich, a freshman from Allen, Texas, 11th in 22.72 seconds. A third OC runner, Dallas junior Jamal George, was one spot behind Kruzich, taking 12th in 22.86 seconds.
All three recorded qualifying times for the National Christian College Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships. George and Kruzich did the same in the 100 meters, with George 11th among 28 runners with a time of 11.20 seconds and Kruzich 13th in 11.29 seconds.
Two other OC competitors also posted national-qualifying times or marks. In the 400-meter hurdles, Winston Ogletree was fifth among 21 runners with a time of 56.91 seconds.
Freshman Keegan Palmer recorded a mark of 41 feet, 5¾ inches (12.64 meters) in the triple jump and was 11th of 16 jumpers.
