EDMOND, Okla. (Feb. 19, 2013) – Lindsy Moore pitched a complete-game four-hitter to lead Oklahoma Christian past Northwestern Oklahoma State 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon in the Lady Eagles’ 2013 home debut at Edmond North High School.

Northwestern’s Alora Miller answered right back in the second game of the doubleheader, handcuffing OC on four hits as the Rangers earned a split with a 6-2 win.

In the opener, OC (6-5) combined timely hitting with Moore’s strong pitching. After Northwestern (1-1) took a 1-0 lead in the second, OC answered with a three-run third inning. Lauren Pittman tied the game with an RBI single and Martha Thomas followed with a two-run home run to center field off Northwestern starter Katie Parsons (0-1).

Pittman and Thomas also both had a hand in a three-run sixth inning for OC. Pittman drew a two-out walk. Thomas followed with a run-scoring double and scored on a home run down the left-field line by Danielle Collins.

Moore (3-2) didn’t allow a walk and struck out two batters. She retired 10 straight batters in one stretch and recorded a rare three-pitch, three-out inning in the fifth.

OC’s bats went mostly silent in the second game against Miller (1-0). Sarah Peoples went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, but the Lady Eagles’ only other hits were a second-inning single by Kala Ratliff (who later scored on a single by Peoples) and a third-inning double by Pittman.

Monique Zevada went 4-for-4 with three home runs and five RBIs to lead the Rangers. Her two-run shot in the third inning off OC reliever Krystal Rodriguez (1-1) put Northwestern ahead to stay at 3-1. She added solo homers in the fourth and seventh innings.
