OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 29, 2013) – Evan Fike, who has competed on OC’s men’s cross country team for the past four seasons, will serve as a student assistant coach for the OC squad this season, head coach Wade Miller said Thursday.

Fike, from Canton, Texas, ran in four meets for OC as a senior, with a top finish of 16th place at the Central Oklahoma Land Run. He ran in five meets as a junior and three as a freshman.

In track, he won the 10,000 meters at last spring’s Heartland/McMurry Invitational with a time of 35:05.97, and finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Southwestern Relays with a time of 10:29.59

“Evan is an experienced runner who understands how we train,” OC coach Wade Miller said. “He will be an asset to our cross country program this season.”
