ABILENE, Texas (Oct. 6, 2012) – Oklahoma Christian’s four-game road winning streak ended Saturday afternoon as McMurry (Texas) made a first-half goal stand up for a 1-0 win over the Eagles at Edwards Field.

OC (5-5) had come from behind in two of the four wins during the impressive road streak, but after James Ness scored in the 39th minute for McMurry (3-8), the Eagles’ offensive chances were limited. OC managed only three second-half shots against the War Hawks, who like OC are new to the Heartland Conference.

McMurry outshot OC 12-9 and had the better scoring chances, hitting the post on one attempt in addition to Ness’ goal. OC goalkeeper Tim Spencer and his McMurry counterpart, Neil O’Sullivan, had two saves each.

Domenico DeGrazia (four) and Ricardo Chinchilla (two) were the only Eagles to take more than one shot.

OC will have two more road games – at Dallas Baptist (Texas) on Thursday and at St. Edward’s (Texas) on Saturday – before closing the regular season with a five-game homestand.
