SEARCY, Ark. (Feb. 14, 2013) – Coming off their first loss in 10½ months, the Oklahoma Christian Eagles rebounded in a big way on Thursday, rolling to a 9-0 win at Harding (Ark.) in the first of four matches in the Natural State in as many days.

OC (3-1) had its 15-match winning streak snapped Saturday with a 5-4 loss at NCAA Division III Texas-Tyler. The Eagles looked no worse for the wear against Harding (3-2), as only three matches proved competitive.

At No. 1 doubles, OC’s Bruno Tiberti and Martin Poboril beat Kittibodee Singnil and Jon Mark Rowden 8-5. The Eagles’ other two duos – Julio Pulido and Nicolas Auruccio at No. 2 and Josip Smoljan and Paulo Roessle at No. 3 – won 8-0 and 8-1, respectively.

OC’s No. 2 and No. 3 duos remained undefeated this season.

In singles play, Poboril at No. 2, Smoljan at No. 3, Pulido at No. 4 and Auruccio at No. 5 all rolled to straight-set wins. Tiberti went to a super tiebreaker before downing Singnil 7-6, 1-6, 10-7 at No. 1 and at the No. 6 position, Roessle staged an impressive comeback. After dropping the first set to Harding’s Adam Edwards 6-0, Roessle turned the tables to win the second set 6-0, then took a third set 6-2.

OC will play Friday through Sunday in a round-robin event at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark. The Eagles will face NCAA Division II No. 38-ranked Delta State (Miss.) on Friday, No. 29 Ouachita Baptist on Saturday and No. 47 Southeastern Oklahoma State on Sunday.
