MARION, Ind. (Feb. 15, 2013) –Sophomore Sarah DiBiasi finished seventh in the pentathlon to provide Oklahoma Christian with its first team points Friday on the opening night of the National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor Championships at Troyer Fieldhouse.
OC’s 4x200-meter relay team finished ninth – one spot outside of scoring position – and Katie Ostlund finished a respectable 16th of 30 contenders in the weight throw.
The Lady Eagles stood 18th overall thanks to the two team points earned by DiBiasi.
DiBiasi, in her first year as a multi-event competitor, posted a score of 2,689 points in the pentathlon, her season best by 163 points. She finished fifth among the 10 competitors in the long jump (4.98 meters) and the 800 meters (2:39.32).
The relay team of Rebecca Bloodworth, Maegan Cowan, Somer Helms and Andrea Dennis finished in 1:48.49, .30 of a second out of eighth place. Shorter (Ga.) won the race in 1:40.70.
In the weight throw, Ostlund entered ranked 27th in the NCCAA in the event but unleashed a season-best throw of 12.61 meters to finish 16th.
