OKLAHOMA CITY (March 1, 2013) – Sergio Flores, a standout defender and midfielder at Classen School of Advanced Studies, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Oklahoma Christian, OC men’s coach David Scott said Friday.

At Classen, Flores led the Comets to the state Class 4A semifinals in 2012 and will enter this season as a four-year starter. Flores also plays club soccer for the Oklahoma Football Club.

“Sergio is a versatile player who brings the ability to play at either outside back or anywhere through midfield,” Scott said. “He is a tremendous competitor and has the drive and work rate to match. He will help improve our back line defensively and our ability to attack out of the back.”

Flores is one of three players to sign with OC during the current NCAA signing period, joining midfielder-forward Troy Tippeconnic and goalkeeper Evan Helker, both of Edmond Memorial High School.
