MASON, Ohio (May 12, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian has been seeded ninth out of 10 teams for the National Christian College Athletic Association World Series, tournament officials announced early Sunday while releasing the event schedule.
OC (25-23) will be in the same pool as No. 1 seed California Baptist, No. 4 seed Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio), No. 5 seed Southeastern (Fla.) and No. 8 seed Cedarville (Ohio).
The Eagles will begin pool play at 4 p.m. Central time (5 p.m. local time) Wednesday against Mount Vernon Nazarene (32-17). On Thursday, OC will face California Baptist (37-18) at noon and Cedarville (28-16) at 3 p.m. OC’s final pool game will be against Southeastern (35-27) on Friday at 1 p.m.
The top two teams in each pool will advance to the semifinals, set for 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday. The semifinal winners will meet Saturday at noon for the national championship.
The other teams who are in the tournament include No. 2 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) (35-19), No. 3 seed Arizona Christian (29-25), No. 6 seed Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) (32-19), No. 7 seed Emmanuel (Ga.) (32-23) and No. 10 seed Covenant (Ga.) (28-15).
OC will be making its first appearance in a national tournament since 1972, when the Eagles finished third in the NAIA World Series.
