All-State runner from Marlow signs with Lady Eagles
MARLOW, Okla. (Feb. 14, 2013) – Maci Rich of Marlow, a two-time Class 3A All-State selection in cross country, has signed a letter of intent to run for Oklahoma Christian, coach Wade Miller said Thursday.
Rich starred in cross country and track at Marlow and rank this past summer at the USA Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
"Maci is a great runner,” Miller said. “She has placed well against some great competition, particularly last summer at the 2012 USA Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships. I can see her building on an already impressive career in track and being an immediate contributor in cross country."
In cross country, Rich finished sixth in 3A as a freshman, fifth as a sophomore, 13th as a junior and 24th as a senior. She has a personal-best time in the 3,200-meter cross country races of 12:19.
In last year’s Class 3A state track meet, she finished fifth in the 800 meters and sixth in the 1,600 meters.
At the 2012 USA Youth Championships in Arlington, Texas, Rich recorded personal-best times in finishing third in the 1,500 meters (4:53.12) and fifth in the 800 meters (2:22.07).
