- Provides a central source for information on clinical trials for patients
with HIV and AIDS, federally approved HIV treatment and prevention guidelines,

medications, including side effects, dosages, and interactions with
other drugs or food.
AllRefer Medical Encyclopedia
- Information on topics including diseases, tests, symptoms, injuries,
surgeries, nutrition, poisons, and special topics.
American Nurses Association (ANA)
- Information on current issues in nursing as well as a career center with a searchable jobs
database.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- The branch of the U. S. government that works to control and prevent
disease, the CDC's site provides information about health topics as well
as national and state data on health and disease.

Dental Information
- Consumer information from the University of Pennsylvania School of
Dental Medicine. Topics include root canal, gum surgery, crowns, filings
and implants.
- Diabetes
Dictionary
- A dictionary of words related to diabetes provided by the National
Diabetes Information Clearinghouse.
- Gray's Anatomy
- An online edition of the 1918 classic that includes pictures as well as a subject index.
- Science.gov
- Gateway to selected science information provided by U.S. government agencies,
including the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and NASA.
- Hardin MD
- Excellent directory of medical and health-related links. Offers a large collection of medical images
and information.
Healthfinder
- Provides links to health-related Web sites, information about preventive care, and drug
information.
- Healthopedia.com
- Information in patient-friendly language
on diseases, conditions, tests, symptoms, injuries, surgeries, nutrition,
special topics, and drugs and medications.
- HIV
Knowledge Base
- A comprehensive, online textbook of HIV disease from the University
of California San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital.
- Human Anatomy Online
- Offers interactive graphics of ten systems: skeletal, digestive, muscular, lymphatic, endocrine,
nervous, cardiovascular, male or female reproductive, and urinary.
- Human Genome
Project
- The U.S. Human Genome Project (HGP), sponsored by the Department of
Energy and the National Institutes of Health, is an effort to characterize
all human genetic material by determining the complete sequence of the
DNA in the human genome.
- MayoClinic.com
- Aimed at the layperson, this site provides a wealth of information and tools for healthier lives,
such as online calculators (BMI, calorie, etc.), self-assessments, a symptom checker, and quizzes.
- Medical Images on the Web
- Annotated links to online image collections organized into categories such as Cardiology, Dermatology,
Neurology, etc.
- MedlinePlus
- A wealth of health information, included a medical encyclopedia, a medical dictionary,
drug information, tutorials, videos, and more.
- Merck Manuals Online Medical Library
- An online version of the well-known Merck manuals. The Online Medical Library is
updated periodically and contains photographs, audio materials
and video material not present in the print versions.
- National Coalition of Ethnic and Minority Nurse Associations
(NCEMNA)
- NCEMNA offers information and links to American nurses' associations representing major U.S. ethnic
groups, including Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPINA), Hispanic (NAHN), and Black (NBNA).
- National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NFLPN)
- Organization for LPNs, vocational nurses and nursing students. Includes information on scholarships.
- National Institutes of Health: Health Information
- Health information provided by the NIH.
- National Institute of Nursing Research
- This organization supports research in nursing through grants and other funding programs, and its Web
site provides information about funding opportunities as well as links to nursing organizations and
conferences.
- NIAAA Alcohol and Alcohol Problems Science Database
- The Alcohol and Alcohol Problems Science Database (ETOH) is covers all aspects
of alcohol abuse and alcoholism. Produced by the National Institute
on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), ETOH includes abstracts and bibliographic references to journal
articles, books, dissertations, and more.
ETOH contains research findings from the late 1960s to the present,
as well as historical research literature.
- NLM Gateway
- Access to all of the health information offered by the National Library of Medicine.
- Nutrition Facts
- Free source for nutrition information on almost six thousand different
foods. Site format is similar to the "Nutrition
Facts" label on almost all food packages in your local
supermarket.
- Online Medical
Dictionary
- A searchable dictionary that contains
terms relating to biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, medicine, molecular
biology, physics, plant biology, radiobiology, science and technology.

- The U.S. National Institutes of Health's free digital archive of biomedical and life
sciences journal literature.

- Predefined nursing care plans for a variety of conditions.

- Drug information including the description, clinical pharmacology,
indications and dosage, side effects and drug interactions, warnings and precautions, drug
