- The objective of this project by Yale Law School is to provide access
to digital records pertinent to the fields of history, economics, law,
politics, diplomacy and government. The collection has over 150 documents
dating from the pre-18th century to the 21st century.
- Best of
History Web Sites
- An online directory of more than 700 of the best history-related Web
sites. The site is topically organized and ranks the Web sites according
to "quality, usefulness, and accuracy."

- Search the British Library's extensive collections.

Geography and History
- Offers links to various history sites on the Net. All sites are selected,
evaluated, catalogued and described. Contains links to information about
the history of the world as well as specific areas such as Europe, Asia,

Catalog of the Scientific Community in the 16th and 17th Centuries
- This catalog is a collection of 631 detailed biographies on members
of the scientific community during the 16th and 17th centuries with
vital facts about each individual and their contributions to science.

Digital Book Index
- Digital Book Index provides access to more than 74,000 titles available
online. It gathers both commercial and non-commercial eBooks from more
than 1800 publishers and private publishing organizations.
- Economic History Services
- The intent of this site is to provide a central source of information
for economic historians.
- EH.net Encyclopedia
- EH.Net Encyclopedia of Economic and Business History is designed to
provide students and laymen with high quality reference articles in
the field.

Thesaurus of Geographical Names Online
- Searching for a place name yields information such as a location "hierarchy,"
basic information such as longitude and latitude, and where available,
short descriptive passages on the history and political, cultural, or
commercial significance of the location over time.

A Computerization Project
- Provides a large collection of links to history sites, as well as
information about the History Database Computer Program and information
on organizing a history database.

Historical Text Archive
- Archives historical texts from various countries and periods. Includes
a large collection from the United States.
- HyperHistory
Online
- HyperHistory is an expanding scientific project presenting 3,000 years
of world history with an interactive combination of synchronoptic [simultaneously
presented and viewable] lifelines, timelines, and maps.

Internet Modern History Sourcebook
- The Sourcebook presents a large number of original source texts
organized topically.
- Jewish
History Resource Center
- The Jewish History Resource Center, a project of the Dinur Center
for Research in Jewish History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem,
lists and categorizes over 6000 links to websites that deal with Jewish
History.
- Library of Virginia
- Among many other things, the site indexes documents from Colonial
history to present and and has 600,000 images in Colonial history and
WW2 photos.
- Online
Speech Bank
- An index to and growing database of full text, audio and video (streaming)
versions of public speeches, sermons, legal proceedings, lectures, debates,
interviews, other recorded media events, and a declaration or two.
- Rare
Map Collection at the Hargrett Library
- A collection of about 800 historical maps from the sixteenth century
through the early twentieth century, over a period of almost 500 years.
The collection is housed at the University Of Georgia.
- Repositories
of Primary Sources
- A list of over 1400 Web sites describing holdings of manuscripts,
archives, rare books, historical photographs, and other primary sources
for the research scholar.

- Hanover College's History Web site. The principal goal of Texts and
Documents is to make primary texts available to students and faculty
for use in classes. The Hanover Historical Texts Project goal is to

ViVa: A Bibliography of Women's History
- ViVa is a bibliography of articles about women's and gender history.

- Provides access to papyrology collections around the world, literature from and concerning the

- Perseus Project Home Page
- Presents an interactive multimedia database on ancient Greece. Includes ancient texts and

- Royal Historical Society Bibliography on British and Irish History
- This database has 300,000 records, by far the most complete online
bibliographical resource on British and Irish history, including relations with

- Medieval Feminist Index
- Covers journal articles, book reviews, and essays in books about women, sexuality, and gender during the Middle Ages. Over 300 journals are indexed and, over 1800 records and primary sources are identified.
- Online Reference Book for Medieval Studies [ORB]
- ORB is an academic site, written and maintained by medieval scholars for the benefit of their fellow instructors and serious students and consists of online text materials for Medieval Studies. All articles have been judged by at least two peer reviewers. Authors are held to high standards of accuracy, currency, and relevance to the field of Medieval Studies.

- Provides digital versions of some of the core printed primary and secondary sources for the medieval and modern history of the British Isles.
- CELT: Corpus of Electric Texts
- CELT is a searchable online textbase of Irish contemporary and
historical documents from many areas, including literature and the other arts.
- Gutenberg Bible Online
- The Gutenberg Bible, the first book printed with movable type, was printed at Johann Gutenberg's shop in Mainz, Germany and completed in 1454 or 1455. The University of Texas, which owns a copy, has scanned each of the pages and made them available online.
- IBIS Links
- Links to bibliographies, dictionaries, library catalogs, and archival lists as well as online manuscripts, images, and maps in the area of British and Irish Studies.
- Irish Resources in the Humanities
- Developed at University College Dublin, this site is a gateway to Web sites that contain substantial content in the area of Irish Studies.

- American Women
- A gateway to Library of Congress resources for the study
of women's history and culture in the United States.
The Amistad Research Center
- In addition to archiving African-American history and culture, the
Amistad Research Center also holds information about many other minority
groups. This page's links go to the Center's manuscript collection,
several art collections, traveling history exhibits, and library.
- Biographical
Directory of the United States Congress, 1774-Present
- This searchable directory provides biographical information on the
more than thirteen thousand persons who have served in the U.S. Congress,
including those who served in the Continental Congress, territorial
delegates, resident commissioners, and U.S. vice-presidents.
- Black Archives
of Mid-America
- The mission of the Black Archives is to collect and preserve the evidence
of the accomplishments of Blacks and to use our collections and related
ideas to contribute to human knowledge and understanding by making our
collections available for research, education, and exhibition. The Black
Archives of Mid-America is the largest depository of artifacts documenting
the African American experience in the four-state area of Missouri,
Kansas, Iowa, and Oklahoma. Archival presentations include diaries and
personal documents, local written histories, African American newspapers,
and records from churches, clubs, societies, and businesses.
- Civil War Center
- The purpose of the center is to locate, index, and/or make available
all appropriate private and public data regarding the Civil War and

- Presents census data for the United States on people and the economy
for each state and county from 1790 to 1960.
- U.S. National Archives
- Historical records of government agencies. NARA makes available to
the public the historically valuable records of the three branches of
federal government: executive (including the President), legislative,
and judicial. National Archives holdings include: 1) textual, 2) audiovisual,
3) cartographic and architectural, and 4) electronic records.
- Women in American
History
- Provided by the Encyclopedia Britannica, this site includes a biographical
