Black Archives of Mid-America
The mission of the Black Archives is to collect and preserve the evidence of the accomplishments of Blacks and to use our collections and related ideas to contribute to human knowledge and understanding by making our collections available for research, education, and exhibition. The Black Archives of Mid-America is the largest depository of artifacts documenting the African American experience in the four-state area of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Oklahoma. Archival presentations include diaries and personal documents, local written histories, African American newspapers, and records from churches, clubs, societies, and businesses.
