The Library has a collection of cassette tapes that are located at the circulation desk. All cassettes are cataloged in the Library's online catalog. Cassettes do not leave the Library unless special permission is given by a librarian and certain procedures are followed.

Located on the 3rd floor, this Collection contains the Lois Exendine Collection of Children's Literature, textbook collection, children's reference collection, units, media guides and teacher guides. Items in this Collection are identified in the online catalog as JUV, LT, CURR LIB.

The DVD collection includes circulating DVDs and reference DVDs, all of which are listed in the Library's online catalog. Circulating DVDs are located on the 3rd floor of the library and can be checked out for one week at a time. Reference DVDs are located at the circulation desk and do not leave the library unless special permission is given by the librarian. A DVD player is located on the 3rd floor of the library.

The Library has a collection of 16mm films that must be accessed through one of the Library's staff. All films are cataloged in the Library's online catalog and do not leave the Library unless special permission is given by the librarian and certain procedures are followed.

The Leisure Reading Collection is located on the 1st floor and includes fiction books in genres such as mystery, science fiction, horror, romance and Western. Books in this collection are checked out on the honor systems and have no due date.

The LAC is a collection of materials (published in microfiche) relating to all aspects of American life and literature from the beginning to the outbreak of World War I. Included are pamphlets, periodicals, documents both public and private, biographies and autobiographies of persons both known and obscure, fiction and non-fiction, poetry, collected works and papers, material of foreign origin relating to America, and many rare books not generally available. Each item is cataloged in the library's online catalog. The call number begins with LAC.

The LEL part one (published in microfiche) provides the corpus of English literature from the beginnings to the Restoration. The material in this collection contains all major and minor works of poetry, drama and prose of the period together with the principal scholarship, religious and intellectual texts. The music library contains two types of materials:

• commercial recordings: LPs, CDs, DVDs, and videotapes covering most types of music, including but not limited to symphonic, chamber, operatic, Broadway musical, popular, jazz, 20th century, pre-renaissance, folk/ethnic music, and more.

• archival recordings: recordings of University concerts, recitals, staged productions, etc. from 1970 to present.

Faculty can check out materials from the music library for use elsewhere on campus, while students can check music materials out for use within the library. Music scores are located in the library's main collection and can be checked out for two weeks at a time.

The Library subscribes to The Daily Oklahoman, The Edmond Evening Sun, The New York Times Sunday ed., and the Wall Street Journal. Each of these titles are kept for the current six months in a closed collection, which means that a librarian must be present while the materials are in use. The newspapers do not circulate and must be used in the library. The Library also has the following titles in microfilm: The Christian Science Monitor from Jan. 1962-Jan. 1988; The Daily Oklahoman from Jan. 1953-Oct. 1956; and The New York Times from 1851-1877 and 1953 to the present. The microfilm is housed in cabinets on the 3rd floor.

Located on the 3rd floor of the library, the Oklahoma Archive of Contemporary History contains two different collections: The Oklahoma Living Legends Collection and The Oklahoma Christian University Collection. Since this archive is in a closed area, a librarian must be present while the materials are in use.

Located in Oklahoma Archive of Contemporary History. A wide array of the University's memorabilia is contained in this archive. The Collection includes official college publications, yearbooks, fine arts programs, student publications, alumni newspapers, student directories, newspaper clippings, photographs, slides and the most complete photographic record of the Foster/Burlingame mansion in Bartlesville, first home of the College as Central Christian College.

Located in Oklahoma Archive of Contemporary History. It contains selected audio tapes of the collection of oral history housed at the Oklahoma Historical Society. The Collection was begun on the campus of Oklahoma Christian in 1965. Dr. James O. Baird, then president, developed the idea that the University library should have more Oklahoma oriented material as part of its dial-access tape system. Since little material existed, he decided that the University should initiate an effort to record the memories of longtime Oklahomans who would recall interesting experiences of the past. The major development of the Living Legends was conducted by Pendleton Woods who worked with the University in establishing a volunteer corps, categorizing the recordings and developing audio-visual presentations. In 1971, through legislative effort, this program was funded through the Oklahoma Historical Society and became the official oral history program for the State of Oklahoma. The tapes and transcripts housed at the University are selected copies of the collection and include those tapes recorded by the University when it was the agency in charge of securing Oklahoma's oral history memoirs.

The Library subscribes to periodicals in online, print, and microform formats. The online periodicals can be accessed through the E-Journals List, and periodicals in print and microform format are located on the 3rd floor. The microfilm and print copies are shelved in alphabetical order by title. The microfiche copies are housed in cabinets in alphabetical order by title. The periodicals do not circulate and must be used in the library. Copiers and microform printers are available for copying. A printed list of periodical holdings is available at the Library and all titles housed in the Library are cataloged in the Library's online catalog.

Located in the Restoration History Collection. For two decades, the Bible Department at Oklahoma Christian College was under the capable leadership of Raymond Kelcy. In August 1986, Raymond Kelcy died unexpectedly. His scholarship and outstanding insight into the scriptures enriched the lives of thousands of students. In order that more may benefit from his studies, a collection of hundreds of sermons, lectures, and discussions are available in this Collection on cassette tapes. A catalog is available online or can be requested from the Library. If copies of any of the tapes are desired, an order form is included in the back of the catalog and the cost is $5.00 per tape (includes postage and handling). Payment must be sent with the order.

Located on the 1st floor, this Collection consists of basic reference works in subject areas encompassed by the University's curriculum, as well as those subject fields common to general information requests.

A collection of materials in high demand that have been placed on Reserve by faculty members for their courses located at the circulation desk. They are equally accessible to all students for a limited period of time. Reserve materials are identified as (RESERVE) on the online catalog.

The Restoration History Collection is a special collection within the Oklahoma Christian University library. Begun in 1980, this is a collection of religious material related to the restoration heritage of the churches of Christ as well as being an archive of church related books, pictures, notes, and other items from the Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas region. In addition to collections of church bulletins, significant portions of the libraries of Loyd Smith, Joe Warlick and N. B. Hardeman are housed here. Located on the 2nd floor of the library.
