In his report for the months of July, August, and September, Monday Akpakpan from the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, reported that 345 baptisms have taken place in his area during those three months. He lists twenty different locations in which these baptisms have taken place. Akpakpan is a follow-up coordinator for World Bible School in that area.
The largest number was reported from the Nigerian Christian Bible College Lectureship where 122 men and women were baptized. At the Annual Lectureship at the C. A. O. Essien Memorial Bible School a total of sixty-five men and women were baptized. The World Bible School Seminar at Odukpani Township Church of Christ saw twenty-one baptisms on the day of the seminar but additional baptisms just before and just after the seminar brought the total to sixty-five. At three prisons, a total of forty souls were added to the church during the three month period.
The other baptisms on the list were generally four or five at a particular church or through a particular minister working in the area.
Akpakpan also mentioned that there were youth seminars on different Sundays of the month at various locations and a women’s lectureship is held on the third Saturday of the month at different places.
Certainly good news that Monday Akpakpan and others in the area are having such good success in bringing people to Christ.
