On September 25, 1957, nine courageous children risked their lives to attend Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Confronted by a hostile crowd and escorted by the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne, they shouldered the burden of integrating a then-segregated public school system. These children became known as the Little Rock Nine.

Oklahoma Christian University is proud to host two of these champions of school integration, Carlotta Walls LaNier and Terrence Roberts, for History Speaks: Little Rock Nine on Monday, February 24.

This free event, part of the university's McGaw Lecture Series, starts at 7 p.m. in OC's Hardeman Auditorium.
