The late Mary and Foster McGaw of Evanston, Illinois, created an endowment fund with
the National Education Program in the late 1970s. The National Education Program (NEP) was
a nonprofit organization, created and overseen by the late Dr. George S. Benson, chancellor of Oklahoma Christian from 1957 to 1967. The NEP was dedicated to increasing national awareness of three of America’s founding core values: faith in God, constitutional government, and private enterprise.
Borne out of Oklahoma Christian's partnership with NEP, the McGaw American Heritage Endowment supports efforts to further the appreciation and understanding of these three American core values, which are respective components of OC's three academic colleges. Faith in God is a core component of the College of Biblical Studies. Constitutional government is a component of the College of Arts and Sciences. Private enterprise, or free enterprise, is a component of the College of Professional Studies.
In conjunction with our academic colleges, Oklahoma Christian hosts educational seminars, lectures, and other events each year that highlight and increase the understanding of these values.
