Job Description: The duties of the Ropes Manager and Outdoor Education Coordinator are an integral part of the spiritual program of the camp. Ropes Manager must be able to convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and concern as he/she relates to campers, guests and staff. All staff members are expected to model Christian principles and the standards of Shiloh Camp at work and outside of work; staff members must represent Shiloh Camp positively and professionally within the local community. The purpose of this position is to manage all aspects of the challenge course activities under the supervision of the Executive Director. This includes the training of summer staff, development of ropes retreat programs for businesses, schools and non-profits; develop and execute an outdoor education program for local schools and homeschoolers; marketing and promoting Shiloh adventure program and outdoor education. Ropes Manager and Outdoor Education Coordinator will: * Have displayed qualities of faithfulness to God in their lives, are seeking Godâ??s leading and desire a close, intimate relationship with God * Have been recognized for demonstrating leadership abilities * Have a teachable spirit * Takes initiative * Whatever it takes attitude * Available and open to flexible work hours of camp, retreats & special events * Enjoys working indoors & outdoors * Open to ropes course & adventure training * A heart for inner city children and families * Essential Duties: * Minister to, direct and encourage campers, guests, volunteer leaders and staff in a manner consistent with Christian principles, Shiloh Camp's mission and the spiritual program of the camp. * Convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and concern to campers, guests, leaders and staff. * Work with other staff and camp leadership to help integrate the camp program into the challenge course activities. * Train summer staff to safely operate challenge course stations and elements. * Continue to enhance a comprehensive training for operation of challenge course. * Instruct summer staff in procedures for the operation of stations/elements, emergency procedures and other responsibilities as required. * Train and practice emergency procedures with staff at the beginning and during each staff assignment. * Oversee the daily operation of the challenge courses (high ropes course, faith pole, climbing wall, u-course, and low course). * Perform weekly inspections on challenge courses. * Quarterly Inspection of all challenge courses. * Scheduling for each camp week and ropes retreats for outside customers and community partners. * Order equipment and supplies. * Be available to assist with special programs. * Be able to rise to the unexpected needs of campers, staff, and guests that are not related to the challenge courses. * Market ropes course and outdoor education program to schools, homeschoolers, non-profits and corporations for leadership development * Oversee the development of our outdoor education program
