The rising costs of higher education are well documented. This is particularly the case for private institutions, which do not benefit from state funding. With these rising costs in mind, endowment funding is critical to the university's continued success. In fact, without a substantial permanent endowment, Oklahoma Christian will be at a substantial competitive disadvantage in both cost and quality.
Growing the university's endowment represents this campaign's most significant targeted area. Endowment provides financial strength and stability, and it guarantees a consistent future stream of financial support that will enable Oklahoma Christian to constrain future tuition increases while increasing student scholarships.
A stronger endowment will put a Christian education within the reach of even more young people. Endowment resources generated through the Higher Learning~Higher Calling campaign will support student scholarships, academic disciplines and extracurricular programs through:
- the University Strength Endowment, which will benefit the entire OC community;
- scholarship endowments, which will assist students university-wide;
- academic endowments in each of OC's three colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Biblical Studies and the College of Professional Studies;
- the Faculty Development Endowment, which will support continuing education and professional development for Oklahoma Christian faculty.
