Honors Summer Academy July 14,2013 3:00 PM - July 20, 2013 11:00 AM - The OC Honors Summer Academy is an annual, seven-day college experience hosted by the University Honors Program. The Academy encourages the pursuit of excellence by gifted and talented high school students finishing their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of high school. Two hours of college credit may be earned.

During this day event, freshman and transfers will receive some basic knowledge about preparing for the academic side of your OC experience. You will have the opportunity to explore majors and meet professors. Bottom line – by the end of orientation, you will have your first college schedule, your OC laptop and some new friends.

First Night

First Night welcomes and introduces new freshmen into OC's spiritual and intellectual community. It includes a banquet, speakers, the traditional Salt and Light ceremony and the presentation of OC Bibles by Alumni Relations and OC faculty to the incoming students.

Dr. Charles Rix Benefit Concert for the Center for Global Mission

Dr. Charles Rix, OC Bible Professor and concert pianist, will be performing a benefit concert featuring pieces by Handel, Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel, and Gershwin to benefit the OC Center for Global Missions. He has performed internationally in Russia and throughout Asia and has given benefit concerts for missions, international schools, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Dr. Rix gave a benefit concert in 2012 that helped numerous OC students participate in summer missions. All donations from this concert will fund OC students who participate in mission projects and mission internships.

Event: Area-Wide Team Gathering (AWTG) Youth Event - Oct 6th 5-7 pm POC: Brett McKnight & approximately 350-400 Jr and Sr High students OC Lead: Michael Mitchell and Bob Rowley Parking: Limit to the West side of the Student Center or by the gymnasium 5-6 pm in Hardeman Auditorium w/ 30 min of singing and 30 min for speaker Dinner at 6 pm in the Pavilion or if it is raining the Student Center followed by a tour by Admissions.
