Vienna Alumni Adventurers 2017

Greetings from our 'pre-summer activities' campus. It's been quiet here for a couple of weeks, but when jr/sr high schools are out, things will pick up on campus as well. As we all head into the summer months, I hope any travels are safe and enjoyable for you.

Now, to the news...

Schonbrunn Palace- Vienna, Austria

Vienna Alumni Adventure 2.0 is now history, and it was awesome!  Another fantastic group of 24 guests accompanied Ken ('69) /Lindy (Scobey '69) Adams, Bob ('74)/Judi (Williams '76) and Kim (Bean '91) Reiter to Das Millicanhaus in Vienna for an enjoyable 7 days of 'adventure' and fellowship. The weather was near perfect this year which made all of our exploration that much more enjoyable. Information on the next trip will be coming in the next couple of months, so watch for it and make your plans to enjoy this outstanding trip value.

OC Summer Camps

In our last Eagle Excerpts newsletter, we listed camps that will take place on the OC campus this summer. In case there are still some that are interested in exploring those possibilities for your kids, click on the link to show all summer camps and how to get more information and register.

Save the Date- Homecoming 2017

Bringin' It Back Home - Destination 35° 36' 46" N / 97° 28' 9" W will take place on Nov. 3-4, 2017.  This year's 50-year class will be the Class of 1967, the annual Barn Bash group will be the 80's Decade, the musical is "Anything Goes", and on Friday afternoon will be departmental awards and that evening is the Alumni Banquet.
Save the date and plan to set sail for your alma mater on Nov. 3-4!

New OC Retirees

This spring brought three more retirements of long-time OC faculty members. Randy Heath ('69), following his retirement from OC Track & Field two years ago, now retires from the classroom as well, completing 48 years at OC. Dr. Kathy Thompson completes her OC work in our music department after 30 years of service. Finally, Mr. Phil Reagan retires from the Theater and Speech areas after 38 years of service to OC.
All three of these members of the OC family have given countless hours of time and teaching to our students. We wish them well in pursuing their new interests.

Senior Sendoff Food Truck Lawn Party at Hartman Place

Our program honoring our graduating seniors continued this spring with two OKC Thunder games and dinner for about 120 students, then a food truck picnic on campus for all seniors in the newly landscaped Hartman Place on campus. Thanks again to those alums financially supporting this great program.

Stafford North's 'Good News' Newsletter

May Good News tells of how engineering students from Oklahoma Christian University helped a man with ALS who could no longer speak, to be able to speak through an electronic device. There are also stories about an exciting event at Ohio Valley University, about a 50th-anniversary celebration at Nigerian Christian Hospital, a 70thanniversary recognition at Ibaraki Christian University and information on OC's 2017 Bible Lectures. So stories about good things happening in Oklahoma, Ohio, Nigeria, and Japan.
