28th Annual Valentine Cabaret

Happy Valentine's Day, Eagles! I can't believe that we're nearing the half-way point in the semester already. I hope that 2017 has begun in a great way for all of you!

Spring Sing 2016

Spring Sing '17One of OC's oldest traditions, Spring Sing, is nearing it's home stretch of rehearsals and will hit the stage on March 2-4. This year's theme of "Rewind the Clock (90s)" will again feature Friday/Saturday shows at 8:00, 2.00, and 8:00 pm. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online. [Alumni Discounts do not apply to this student-produced show.]

The Student Government Association has added a new element to this production weekend with a charity fundraising aspect. The plan is to use this weekend to host a silent auction in the lobby to raise funds for a selected charity. This year's selection is a local school for underprivileged kids with which OC has had a relationship for many years. So, we hope you will support their effort and come ready to 'bid it up' for their good cause.

Vienna Alumni Adventure - SOLD OUT!

This year's alumni trip to Vienna on April 29 now has a 'full haus'.  Our trip will consist of 30 travelers who will meet in Vienna on the 29th and begin our activities on Sunday, following a worship service with one of the Vienna churches. For the future, we are looking into moving this event to an 'every other year' offering if we can find another group to alternate with us to preserve our space.  If we cannot find someone, we may continue on an annual basis. Watch for information on future trips at a later date.

Associates Dinner - April 6

As an OC graduate, you get it. You know what it's like to have a first-class Christian education, taught by the most loving professors. You've proudly sported the maroon and gray, bragging about your alma mater at every opportunity. You remember (quite vividly, in fact) those who supported you in your OC odyssey.

Today, we invite you to support the students that are following in your footsteps. With a one-time gift of $1,000 (or less for recent grads) to the general unrestricted fund, you can become an OC Associate and help make a first-class Christian education more affordable for current and future Oklahoma Christian students. To learn more about this life-changing program, or to join today, visit www.oc.edu/associates.
As a token of our gratitude, each Associate will receive two complimentary tickets to the 14th-annual Associates Gala, taking place on April 6, 2017 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. While you will share a five-star meal in the company of great friends, you will also get to join us in celebrating Associates 2017 along with Hobby Lobby, Mardel, Hemispheres, and Museum of the Bible leaders and innovators: the Green Family. Come be inspired by our honorees, students, and our president -- this is a night you won't want to miss!

If you have any questions regarding the Associates program or the Associates Gala, please contact Christine Merideth at christine.merideth@oc.edu, or by calling 405.425.5094.

New Coffee Shop

'The Brew' -  OC's new coffee shop is under construction on the second floor of the Mabee Learning Center, overlooking the Thelma Gaylord Forum. The hope is to have it up and operational before the students head home for the summer. When completed, it will be one of the largest coffee shops in the entire region. We will plan to offer something in the shop during next homecoming so all can see and enjoy.

National Alumni Council

The next meeting of this group of 20 alums will be on March 3.  Serving as an advisory group to our alumni relations staff, as well as serving as ambassadors for the university, you can feel free to contact any of the members with ideas or questions. If you have something you would like to have discussed at the meeting, you can contact one of the members by going to our alumni web page and clicking on 'National Alumni Council (NAC)' for a list of the members or click here. OR you can contact me directly at bob.lashley@oc.edu. Feel free to make use of this communication source.

Stafford North's 'Good News' Newsletter

'Good News' for February tells about the work of Eastern European Missions to spread Bibles and literature and the generous funding they received in Fall 2016. Also, there are good stories updating mission efforts in Vienna, Zambia, and Zimbabwe along with information on the work of the Sojourners.  You will find the stories inspiring and encouraging.

To submit a story idea to Good News, contact
stafford.north@oc.edu.  Please forward Good News to your church email list and to your own Facebook or email list.  Let’s spread the Good News.  To reach Good News go to www.oc.edu/goodnews.

Maybe a bit brief this month, but that's it for now. Talk to you again around spring break.

In Him,
Bob Lashley ('74)
