After 11 years in the tourism sector, Goretti Kabuto opted for a change to diversify her career and boost her personal income. Goretti opened Rwanda's first business magazine and advertising angency called Business Rwanda.
Today, Business Rwanda is considered a regional paragon for up to date information and quality publishing. Goretti's focus has been on developing new business and has noticed an increase in new clients. Business Rwanda offers advertising services in multiple areas including outdoor advertising, corporate identity, designing and television advertisement production. An important factor in the concept of Business Rwanda is to "give back" to the community by providing training to staff and employing a number of children who sell the magazines as newspaper vendors so that they can earn a sizeable commission. This gives the children an opportunity to be self employed and instills in them a sense of responsibility and shows them how to save money.
After completing her secondary college in Uganda, Goretti enrolled in a prestigious tourism college in Kenya known as Kenya Utalii College of Hospitality and Tourism studies. She graduated with an Associated Diploma in Travel Operations in September 1994.
In 1995, a s soon as the war ended in Rwanda, Goretti moved to Rwanda and set up a tours and travel agency on behalf of two investors. The company, International Tours and Travels (ITT) has since contributed significantly to the transformation of Rwanda's tourism and travel industry.
Goretti's achievements at ITT include:
- Planning and executing the company's expansion by opening up a new branch in the
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
- Appointed as the Managing Director of the company
- Facilitating the International Air Travel Authority (IATA) Certification

Travel Market in UK and the Indaba in South Africa as a national and corporate representative.
- Outstanding performance awards in Sales from British Airways, Uganda Airlines, Kenya Airways
and Galileo reservation systems.
Goretti's vision is to grow Business Rwanda by investing in equipment such as large format printers, computers, plotters, electronic advertising equipment and to be able to manufacture branding materials in house. Goretti is 39 and married with two children.
