Gloria K. Uwizera

GloriaGloria Uwizera is a young entrepreneur and designer. She owns and operates a textile and batiks design company called "Glo Creations." In November 2004, Gloria started her business in Senegal (West African side) fulfilling a life-long dream. She is a gifted artist designer and wishes to use her artistic skills.

Gloria has had to overcome many difficulties including the absence of easy access to raw materials and the public's relative unfamiliarity of the art form of Batik.

In January 2008, she registered a limited liability company to control the business and formally employs two young people and various casuals as the work load demands.

Glo Creations envisions providing job opportunities for the youth and women of Rwanda. Gloria plans to source additional financing to expand her business first in Rwanda, in the East African region and the western countries like America and Europe. She also hopes to move into interior design to establish a factory to produce t-shirts and other kinds of garments as well as have a training center.
