Easy Travel Africa, a travel agency in Rwanda, is Elise's first business and has been open for one year. Though Elise has had no professional training in business management or finance, she has successfully managed other companies. She also serves as a board member for Rwandair Express, the national carrier of Rwanda and Vice-President of the Chamber of tourism within the Private Sector.
In order to keep up with market forces, Elise has determined that Easy Travel Africa must expand and develop accordingly. Expansion will include opening a second branch office within the next six months which will require re-financing.
In the future, Elise plans on partnering with other agents to form a cooperative. It will be her own version of "African Express" Travel Agencies, with branches all over Africa. In the mean time, she is pursuing an opportunity to represent American Express or one of the larger travel agents in the world.
Elise hopes to open a training facility for women offering computer skills, secretarial skills and business management courses. This facility would be especially geared for women already in the work field wishing to enhance their knowledge and increase their competency.
Elise was born in 1968 in Uganda and is married to Gihana Katarebe and they have two children.
