Chantal Sarah Bucyana
 

ChantalChantal Bucyana has been in business and self employed for the past 14 years. Currently she owns and operates a beauty parlor in Kigali City. It is a unisex salon that provides hairstyling, manicures, pedicures, cosmetics and retailing beauty products.

She started her business career in 1994 when she opened a pharmacy, employing medical personnel to help her in day-to-day operations. It ran successfully until 1998 when she and her husband moved to Uganda.

In 1999, Chantal opened a company in Kempala, Uganda selling different types of timber. The business also included a furniture workshop plus a showroom. She operated this company with her husband until 2001 when they made the decision to move back to Rwanda.

Chantal's future plans are to expand her business to include a Beauty Skills Training Institute on premise to train unemployed Rwandans in various beauty industry skills. She also intends on providing on-job training at the salon to give trainees the necessary experience in order to take the nationally recognized beauty skills examination from the United Kingdom. After they pass the test, the trainees will be awarded a hair and beauty certification.

Chantal is married and has three children.
