Those are the students a professor wants in their classroom!” Dr. Bigelow is a host of international exchange students. He is married to Michelle and has two daughters: Suzanne and Shannon. He attends Memorial Road Church of Christ, where he is a children’s Bible class teacher. |

Steve Maher, M.S.E.E Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering B.S.E.E., University of Kansas M.S.E.E., University of Kansas Office: PEC 229 Office phone: 405.425.5407 Email: Steve Maher Area of Interest: Integrated Circuits “I want to teach bright young Christians, especially those good at math and science, to become great (even world class) engineers. I love the college environment. I love working with young people.” Mr. Maher studies integrated circuit design, debug and failure analysis, and engineering economics and management. He is in the Electronic Device Failure Analysis Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He enjoys coaching youth basketball, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and playing the tuba. He really enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa and his three children: Marisa, Elizabeth, and Daniel. Mr. Maher attends Memorial Road Church of Christ where he has served as a Bible class teacher and a Journeyland aide. |

Robert Mitchell, Ph.D., P.E. Associate Dean for Engineering Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering B.S., Lamar University M.S., Massachusetts Institute of Technology Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology Office: PEC 231 Office phone: 405.425.5400 Email: Robert Mitchell Dr. Mitchell is the Associate Dean for Engineering in the College of Professional Studies. He was Dean of Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla before he came to OC. He has worked on projects related to robot vision, image analysis, and land mine detection. Dr. Mitchell has over one hundred publications in these fields. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a member of the American Society of Engineering Education, and the Engineering Dean’s Council. Dr. Mitchell works at OC “because OC had the vision to start a great engineering program, and here we can change life and change lives.” His favorite memory is the engineers’ mission trip to Honduras over spring break. His wife is Jane, and they have three grown children, Amy Dalley, and Russ and Ryan Mitchell, and seven grandchildren. Dr. Mitchell attends Memorial Road Church of Christ, and he likes to teach the elementary school kids at the Capitol Hill Church of Christ on Sunday afternoon. |

He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and is interested in “electromagnetics”, radar, antennas, and low observable technology. He is married to Michelle, and has two children: Carolyn and Steven. He attends Memorial Road Church of Christ. |

Pat Smith, M.S. Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering B.S., University of Oklahoma M.S., Colorado State University Office phone: 405.425.5416 Email: Pat Smith Area of Interest: Computer and Data Communications Pat Smith earned the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert in 1997. He says his favorite memory so far at Oklahoma Christian is: “The moment one of my students shared the news that he had landed a dream job with Cisco Systems. We had worked together to prepare him and he did great in the interviews. He was so excited.” Smith is the sponsor for Alpha Gamma Omega, and the Eagle Game Group. He works at OC “to make a difference in the lives of young people.” He enjoys long distance road cycling and table top games. He and his wife Virginia have two children: Joshua and Katherine. Smith attends Memorial Road Church of Christ where he is involved in mission work, adult seminars, and he teaches Bible class. |

David Waldo, Ph.D. Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering B.S.E., Texas A & M University Ph.D., Drexel University Office: PEC 215 Office phone: 405.425.5449 Email: David Waldo Area of Interest: Digital Signal Processing “I work at OC because I want a Christian environment to work in, to live in, and have my children go to school in,” says Dr. Waldo. Dr. Waldo is interested in biomedical signal processing. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and is the sponsor for the IEEE Student Branch. Dr. Waldo is also a sponsor for Alpha Gamma Omega. He enjoys Bonsai, Spanish, guitar, and scuba diving. His wife is Danielle and they have two children: Alex and Hayley. He attends Edmond Church of Christ where he is a deacon, and the Spanish Bible class leader. |

Joe Watson, M.S.E.E. Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering B.S.E.E., Oklahoma State University M.S.E.E., Oklahoma State University Office: PEC 208 Office phone: 405.425.5414 Email: Joe Watson Area of Interest: Computer Systems Professor Watson works at OC “to help young people prepare for life.” He is interested in computer architecture, digital system design, and microprocessor applications. Watson is a Life Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the IEEE Computer Society. He came to OC following a 29 year career with Texas Instruments. His favorite memory of OC is the class that he teaches. He is also involved in amateur radio and restoration of vacuum tube communications equipment. Prof. Watson is married to Nancy and they attend Memorial Road Church of Christ, where he is a Brother’s Keeper Leader, and a Bible class teacher. |
