Accreditation
What is ABET ?
ABET is the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) for its responsibility in the areas of engineering and engineering technology.
Is it that important?
The accreditation review process ensures educational quality by determining if criteria and guidelines are being met. Being ABET accredited means Oklahoma Christian Engineering meets or exceeds the ABET criteria and tells employers that our graduates are well-prepared for industry.
Bottom line: If you are getting an engineering degree, get an accredited one!
What About OC Engineering?
Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering have both been accredited since 1991.
Computer Engineering was accredited in 2005 after we awarded our first Computer Engineering degree and following ABET's visit to campus.
