Engineering Summer Academy
Incoming 2008 freshman engineering majors are invited to join us for OC's Engineering Summer Academy beginning Sunday, August 17th through Friday, the 22nd. During this week, students work in small teams to solve a number of engineering projects such as catapult launches, decoding encrypted messages, and head to head robot races! Students will also receive course credit for “Introduction to Engineering” that is otherwise taken during the fall semester. This is a great opportunity to develop a strong network of engineering peers and professors before classes even begin!

This event is separate from the Introduction to Engineering Camp. If you are a "soon to be" high school sophomore, junior or senior for the fall of 2008, then please visit the following link and discover an opportunity to learn more about these amazing professions. Click here.
Important things to remember...
Criteria for Attending ESA
Due to prerequisite requirements for “Introduction to Engineering”, students will need to have a minimum of a 23 ACT Math sub-score (540 SAT-Math equivalent) to be eligible to attend.
Dorms
Students WILL be able to move directly into their dorms a week early and student housing will open up on Sunday August 17th, after 1pm. Housing opens for the rest of the incoming freshman class on Saturday August 23rd.
Cost and Space Limitations
Cost is $440 and includes one hour of course credit, plus room and board for the entire week. Payment can be made online and we ask all payments to be made by July 1st. Also, due to space limitations, Engineering Summer Academy will be limited to the first 50 eligible students who sign up.
New Student Orientation
Students attending Engineering Summer Academy are strongly encouraged to join us for our New Student Orientations on May 4nd or June 21st. However, if students are unable to attend the first two orientation sessions, then we will take care of the main orientation items (class schedules and laptop distribution) during the first day of camp, and attending the final New Student Orientation on August 25th will not be required.
