Dwayne Cleveland, Ed.D. During his time at OC, he has received the OC Leadership Award and the Gaylord Chair for Teaching Excellence. Dr. Cleveland is interested in reading comprehension, and “student interaction in teaching and learning.” He is married to Kay, and has three children: Sara, Stacey, and Todd who graduated from OC. He is an Elder and Bible class teacher at Choctaw Church of Christ. |

Max Dobson, Ed.D. Professor of Education 1975 Gaylord Chair of Distinguished Teaching B.S., Phillips University M.Ed., Northwestern State College Ed.D., Oklahoma State University Office: Payne Center 201 Office phone: 405.425.5352 Email: Max Dobson In 2006 he was the Oklahoma Adapted PE Teacher. Max Dobson has several favorite memories of OC. He coached the baseball team to two wins over the University of Oklahoma in 1973-74. He also coached to baseball team to the College World Series in 1972. In 1980 he took the women’s basketball team to the state championship. In 1976 he began teaching special needs children – one of his special talents. Dobson belongs to two associations: Oklahoma Association of Heath, PE, Recreation and Dance, and AAHPERD. His wife’s name is Marilyn and they have three children, Tami, Todd and Teri. They attend Memorial Road Church of Christ. Dobson says that he works at OC because he hopes to share Christian influence to future teachers and coaches. |

Caren Feuerhelm, Ed.D. Assistant Professor of Education B.S., Oklahoma State University - Elementary Education M.A., Southern Nazarene University - Early Childhood Education Ed.D., Oklahoma State University - Curriculum and Instruction Office: DAH 207 Office phone: 405.425.5434 Email: Caren Feuerhelm Dr. Caren Feuerhelm was once mistaken for the writer of The Cat in the Hat. She says, "As I was observing a student interacting with young children, one of the five-year-old girls asked me if I was Dr. Seuss." She may not be Dr. Seuss, but Feuerhelm has been published. She wrote "Lifeworld of a Primary Teacher" for the January 2007 issue of the NAECTE Journal. She has had several professional memberships including: the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Southern Early Childhood Association, and the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators. She is also in the Oklahoma Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators, and the Association for Childhood Education International, and she was on the governing board as the Newsletter Chairmen for the Early Childhood Association of Oklahoma. Dr. Feuerhelm is in the Who's Who Among University and College Teachers, and received the Faculty Technology Achievement Award in 2007. At OC she helps out by sponsoring the social service club Lambda Chi Zeta. She also tutors students at Western Village Academy in reading and math. She says that she works at OC because of the students. She says, "The students in my field are dedicated to ensuring the well-being of young children. We share a common goal." Dr. Feuerhelm has two children: Chad and Cori Bryant, and is married to Dr. Len Feuerhelm. |

Dan Hays, M.Ed. Professor of Physical Education Head Men's Basketball Coach B.S., Eastern New Mexico University - Physical Education M.S., Eastern New Mexico University - Physical Education M.Ed., Eastern Washington University - Athletic Administration Office: Payne Center 106 Office phone: 405.425.5360 Email: Dan Hays Everyday at OC is a holiday for Dan Hays. Not only does he love basketball, but he is well learned in the sport. He has written several basketball related articles and drills. He has also written booklets on “shooting a basketball” for camps. He is a member of several associations: Oklahoma Education Association, Oklahoma Coaches Association, Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association, and National Association of Basketball Coaches. He enjoys all sports and walking. He is married to JoAnn, and has two children: Stacie Michael and Michelle Lynn. They attend Memorial Road Church of Christ. Hays really enjoys being at OC, and says he can’t pick a favorite memory because he has too many great memories. |

Randy Heath, M.Ed. Professor of Physical Education Track and Field Coach B.S.E., Oklahoma Christian University - Math and Physical Education M.Ed., University of Central Oklahoma - Secondary Education Office: Payne Center 207 Office phone: 405.425.5353 Email: Randy Heath Randy Heath is the Track and Field Coach at OC. He belongs to two associations; one of them is American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The other is the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Track and Field Coaches; he is a member, and a former President of NAIA. Heath was inducted into the OC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997, and inducted into the NAIA Hall of fame in 2004. Both inductions were in the “coach” category. He is married to Barbara and has two grown children, Brent Heath and Lisa Heath Marti, who are both OC graduates. He also has two grandchildren. He attends Memorial Road Church of Christ. |

Denise Hutchinson, Ed.D. Assistant Professor of Education B.S.E., Texas A&M, Kingsville M.S.Ed., Texas A&M, Kingsville Ed.D., NOVA Southeastern University Office: DAH 215 Office phone: 405.425.5432 Email: Denise Hutchinson Dr. Hutchinson-Bell was the president of the Association of Texas Professional Educators for West Oso ISD in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also a member in the Texas State Teachers Association, Phi Delta Kappa, and the Consortium of Doctors. She is the sponsor for the OC Circle K Club. She has sponsored the National Honor’s Society, and Culture Awareness. She is interested in using technology to increase student learning, clinical studies, and educational leadership. She has published “First Thing First,” and several grants, including: Auto Theft Prevention Grant, National Endowment Grant, Reading Academics Grant, and high school grants. Dr. Hutchinson-Bell is certified to teach elementary education, special education, health, and physical education. Her favorite memory of OC was “receiving a Christian welcome from the faculty and staff.” She works at OC “to assist in our student’s development of gaining a faith institution of higher learning with professional and personal goals.” Dr. Hutchinson-Bell volunteers at nursing homes, and public/private schools. She is involved in Cops helping Cops, District Attorney’s Office Child Protection Agency, “Colors for Kids” and the Texas A&M Eldorado Scholarship Foundation. Dr. Hutchinson was actively engaged with Adopt-A-School Projects in Corpus Christi, TX to support West Oso ISD and Corpus Christi ISD Schools, Women Shelter, Leukemia Foundation, MDA, Greenwood-Molina Day Care Nursery, Big Brother/Big Sister Program and Adult Literacy Program. Honors / Distinctions Received: Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Teacher of the Month and West Oso Hall of Famer. She is a recipient of the Alfred F. Gross Scholarship. Dr. Hutchinson-Bell has one daughter named Nikitta. She attends Wilshire Church of Christ in Oklahoma. |

Darin Martin, Ed.D. Our candidates and faculty are dedicated, caring, and focused on excellence.” Dr. Martin is interested in classroom technology and peer evaluations. He is in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the International Society of Technology in Education. He has a superintendant certification, and was an Oklahoma principal. His favorite memory of OC was “helping on the 2005 hurricane relief trip in Port Arthur, Texas.” He attends Memorial Road Church of Christ, and he is a Bible class and VBS teacher. |

Robyn Miller, Ed.D. She is also the Director of Teacher Education. Dr Miller is interested in cultural issues, and she works at OC for "the opportunity to mentor students in our program." Dr. Miller is the sponsor for Pi Lambda Theta. Her favorite memory of OC as a student was the Gamma Rho spring sing and class with John Vincent. Her favorite memory as a faculty member was when "the entire school of education attended a National conference." She and her husband Kris have three children: Chase, Makenzie, and Luke. She attends Memorial Road Church of Christ. |

She says the main reason she works at OC “is to share the skills and knowledge God has entrusted to me. Hopefully, my contact with students will enrich their lives and mine.” Dr. Parker-Bell has two publications. She wrote: “The TA [teacher advisor] Program in Middle School Arena in OKCPS” and “The Learning Styles of Students in Elementary Schools in OKCPS.” She has a Reading First Certification, and was listed in Who’s Who. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, on the Integris Mental Heath Board and The James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body & Spirit Board. Her best memory of OC is “working with student teachers who were working with students [from a different] culture background, and how the relationships developed into strong bonds.” Dr. Parker-Bell enjoys reading, traveling, meeting new people, and working with special needs individuals. She has participated as a facilitator and has spoken on various topics nationwide. Her husband is E. Marcellius Bell and she has two children: Charles E. and Charla E. Parker. She is actively involved in many community efforts and is a Bible class teacher, special events worker, and CARE group coordinator at Northwest Church of Christ. |
