How much does the MBA program cost?

Tuition is $400 per credit hour.  The MBA degree program is 36 hours. Additional preparatory leveling courses are $1200 each.  Textbook costs vary with each class, but average $1500 per year if only new and no used textbooks are purchased from the campus bookstore.  Fees include the $25 application fee and $50 graduation fee.

Why should I enroll in the MBA program at Oklahoma Christian University?

The MBA program at Oklahoma Christian is the result of the vision of many business professionals who saw the need for a graduate business program for working adults offering a practical, real-world approach to business. Our curriculum identifies quality, innovation, practicality, entrepreneurship, leadership, communication skills, and ethics as key components of the MBA program. Specialization courses such as accounting, economics, finance and marketing further enhance the curriculum.

What factors are considered for admission?

There are three main factors considered for admission to the MBA program, including: undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA), Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score or Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score, and professional experience.

When do you admit new students into the MBA program?

The MBA program grants admission for the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Can I discuss the program with someone before I apply?

Yes. Prospective students are welcome to meet with the MBA director, Ken Johnson. For answers to your program questions, call (405) 425-5562. You may also set up an appointment with the dean to discuss the program.

What is the MBA curriculum like?

The MBA is a rigorous curriculum focusing on practicality, ethics, and quality. It contains courses in entrepreneurship, marketing, economics, management, communication, organizational issues, global perspectives, finance and technology.

When are classes held?

The MBA classes are accelerated and held in the evening. Each class is 7 weeks long and meets on either Monday or Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. For example, you may have Marketing on Monday and Finance on Thursday if you are in the Fast Track Program. If you are in the two-year program, you meet each Tuesday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. for seven weeks.

There are one or two week breaks between each seven week terms.  One week breaks are also taken for Thanksgiving week and Spring Break week.  We are in session 42 out of 52 weeks during the year.

Is financial aid available?

Yes, financial aid is available in the form of the Graduate Stafford Loan Program.  You must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester to qualify for federal aid and to defer any student loans you are now paying. 

Loans up to $18,500 per academic year are available to qualified borrowers for full time graduate study.  You have a six month grace period before repayment must begin. What does "e-campus" mean?

All students entering the program are issued laptop computers for their use in the program. OC provides technical support, training, and general computing assistance to students (undergrad and MBAs) on campus or while remote. Each laptop contains an Ethernet card which, when used on campus, provides the student with wireless communication, access to the Internet, and connection to campus printers and database resources.  The MBA program also offers online courses as well as traditional courses to provide students with more options and flexibility.

What GPA must I maintain throughout the program?

You are required to maintain a GPA of at least a 3.0 (A=4.0) to remain in good standing and to receive a graduate business degree from Oklahoma Christian.

Is academic advising available?

Yes. Newly admitted students should make an appointment with MBA Director Ken Johnson to discuss degree requirements, possible transfer credits, waivers, etc.
