Students in Free Enterprise

SIFE, Students in Free Enterprise , is an on-campus organization for students sponsored by Elaine Kelly, accounting professor, in the School of Business Administration

Mission: To provide college students the best opportunity to make a difference and to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing, and teaching the principles of free enterprise.

Vision: Helping people achieve their dreams through free enterprise education.



Delta Mu Delta

Delta Mu Delta is the National Business Honor Society at Oklahoma Christian University. This organization is headed by Mickey Cowan, professor of Accounting. Students chosen for Delta Mu Delta are upperclassmen representing the top 20% of their class. When students are chosen for Delta Mu Delta, they become members for life.


American Marketing Association

The AMA is an international professional organization for people involved in the practice and study of marketing. The new student chapter at Oklahoma Christian, sponsored by Burt Smith, is dedicated to equipping its members with career insight and practical knowledge about marketing as a profession, as well as providing opportunities for them establish to professional connections and relationships; empowering students to become the architects of their careers.


Accounting Club

In the fall of 2006, the School of Business Administration formed an OC Accounting Club. The club was organized to meet several times each semester to schedule guest speakers, to provide resources to the accounting faculty and to involve the accounting majors in greater leadership roles on campus. The first organizational meeting was held in November of 2006 and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA) spoke of their internship program and their student member program. Ms. Lauren Kelso is the president of the Accounting Club for this academic year and will be in charge of OC’s participation in the OSCPA Campus Competition. Internships in the School of Business

The School of Business Administration assists in the sponsoring of many different internship programs for all majors in the field of business. Internships are available in accounting, finance, management, and marketing to improve the academic knowledge and hands on experience of all students. Internships are sponsored at Devon Energy Corporation, Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Grant Thornton, Visual Image Advertising, Funnel Design Group, Economic Development Authority, Oklahoma City Blazers, New Orleans Hornets and Ackerman McQueen. In addition the Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA) sponsors an internship program for accounting and finance majors. Jody Jones One thing Jody Jones, Professor of Business, likes about his job at OC is that the atmosphere allows him to put his family first. "I enjoy helping students develop both professionally and spiritually," he says. When it comes to academics, he is interested in helping students with their university experience.
