Message from the Dean

Dr. Phil Lewis, Dean School of Business Administration
Phil Lewis, Dean College of Professional Studies

The School of Business Administration has experienced both success and change during the past year. This issue will feature a variety of reports hoping to capture the accomplishments of our students and faculty. An integral part of each story is the partnership we have with our students and with the business community. In addition, you will note several references to the last and the next five years.

This much we know: the vision must continue. It cannot stop just because the first five year’s goals have been met. A new vision and new goals must be developed. An upward trajectory must continue.

To accomplish such, the dean must continue to share the dream, model the way and encourage the heart. He must create an environment of continuous improvement and show a competitive passion for seeking and incorporating new ideas from all sources, while being mindful that God is the architect.

The faculty must be willing to look with new eyes at what can be accomplished for the good of the university, school and kingdom. They must be entrepreneurial in thought and be willing to demonstrate a risk-taking spirit, attentive to the fact that God determines the time of the future.

You may be assured that the School of Business Administration will meet the future head-on by providing a technically excellent yet consistently Christian business education. We will cultivate and nurture relations with the university and with the business community. We will demonstrate excellence through a challenging curriculum and a results-oriented future.

We recognize and believe what Max DePree said, “In the end, it is important to remember that we cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are.” The outcome of our continuing venture will be every graduate sensing the benefits and blessings of having studied at a premier business school.

Thanks to all who continue to support the School of Business Administration. You help us provide programs of excellence and graduates of distinction. Please feel welcome to visit us any time.

Phil Lewis, dean
