Don Drew is a Professor at the Oklahoma Christian University College of Business Administration, Oklahoma City. His current research interests are international social entrepreneurship, faculty work and motivation, strategic development and planning, and faith/work integration. 

He received his B.A. in Bible in 1979 from Oklahoma Christian University and his Master of Human Relations in 1986 from the University of Oklahoma. He earned his Doctor of Education degree in 2000 from Oklahoma State University where he completed his dissertation work in expectancy motivation in complex organizations. He joined the faculty of Oklahoma Christian University in 2000 as founding Director of the university’s Master of Business Administration program. He also received Oklahoma Christian University’s Faculty Leadership Award in 2004, and served as the Academic Director for Peace Through Business – Rwanda 2008.

Prior to entering academia, Don has served as Secretariat to the Joint Chiefs of Logistics, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. where he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1994, and since that time as Senior Analyst to the B-2 Stealth Bomber program. He has consulted for various organizations to include Seagate Technologies, the Oklahoma Governor’s office, U.S. Air Force., Silver Mountain Ministries, and various other for profit and non-profit organizations.

Don is married to Marcia, Oklahoma’s senior insurance administrator for the Credit Union National Association and an alum of OC, and he has two children, Lauren and Stephen, and one grandchild on the way. Lauren is married to Josh Hamblin who is a Air Battle Manager for the USAF, and she is a 2005 Marketing graduate of OC. Stephen is due to graduate from OC with his degree in Youth Ministry in 2009. Don and Marcia are members of the Del City Church of Christ.

One thing Jody Jones likes about his job at OC is that the atmosphere allows him to put his family first.  “I enjoy helping students develop both professionally and spiritually,” he says.   When it comes to academics, he is interested in helping students with their university experience.  He is also interested in school funding.  Jones is a sponsor for the student organization SIFE, making him quite an asset to OC.  He is married to Lisa, and has three children: Tristen, Beaux, and Belle.  He attends Wilshire Church of Christ and is a College Minister. In his spare time he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Elaine D. Kelly is a Certified Public Accountant, and she is interested in promoting strong ethical standards in business.  She works at OC because she enjoys the Christian atmosphere and fellowship.  Kelly was the Gaylord Chair from 1999-2000, she is presently the J.J. Millican Chair in Accounting, and she has received the Merrick Award for teaching excellence.  Kelly is a sponsor for the Accounting Club, and is the scholarship coordinator for the College of Business.  She enjoys volunteering at the Special Olympics, and at the Edmond Library.  She is married to Dennis, and has three children: Denise, Allison, and Kelsey.  Her favorite memory of OC was watching her daughter Allison graduate.  Kelly attends Memorial Road Church of Christ where she is a Bible class teacher, a member of the HIM mission committee, and she is involved in the finance ministry.

Phil Lewis

Dr. Lewis studies, teaches and writes about ethics and leadership.  He wrote the books From Boardroom to Whiteboard: A New Generation of Leadership published by Tate Publishing and Transformational Leadership: A New Model for Total Church Involvement published by Broadman & Holman.  He is active in the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, is a past officer in ACBSP; he is currently President of ACBSP, Region 6; and he is a member of the Christian Business Faculty Association.  Dr. Lewis works at OC “to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate and graduate students” and “to impact the business programs for the future.”  He enjoys traveling, stage plays, music, and reading.  His wife is Marilyn, and they have two married sons: Brook and Blair.  He attends Memorial Road Church of Christ where he is a Bible class teacher.

Dr. Kimberly Merritt works at OC to make a difference. She studies and writes on computer literacy, user satisfaction, and curriculum development. She also studies data warehousing, corporate universities, and innovative teaching techniques. Dr. Merritt is in the International Association for Computer Information Systems, and the Federation of Business Disciplines. She is an Elementary Softball coach, and participates in competitive riding (speed events, and hunter/jumper). She and her husband Michael have two children: Morgan and Miranda. She attends Sullivan Village Church of Christ and has been a Bible class teacher for fifteen years. She is also a Ladies Day Speaker.

Dr. Roper enjoys working at OC because "the university is committed to maintaining a strong connection to the heritage of faith it was founded on."  She also greatly enjoys working with her colleagues in the College of Business. Dr. Roper has sponsored several student teams and projects, including the award winning Lead Like Jesus team and the OC American Marketing Association.  She and her husband, Randy, have been married for 20 years, and have a 12-year-old son named Riley.  The family worships with the Edmond Church of Christ where Kerianne enjoys teaching in the children’s, youth and ladies Bible classes.  She has also been involved in the Mexico Spring-Break mission trip, and the Quiet Place ministry. Her research interests focus on the use of technology in higher education, and how it impacts student satisfaction.

Dr. Simmons views his calling to be one that prepares students to glorify God by being successful business leaders.  To do this, he challenges his students to not settle for mediocrity and strive for excellence in thought and deed.  Dr. Simmons experience includes much exposure to the international market through his travels; the time he spent living in Vienna, Austria teaching business; and a brief stint at the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.  

In his free time, Dr. Simmons enjoys spending time with his wife, Pattie, and his son, Jordan as well as reading from several genres of literature and playing golf and basketball.  He and his family appear to suffer from wanderlust, which means they often find themselves traveling.  By the time that his son was 8-years old, Dr. Simmons had taken him to 14 U.S. states and 15 foreign countries on 3 continents.  Many of those trips involved Dr. Simmons leading students in study abroad programs or mission campaigns.

Dr. Smith is the author of the book The Great Game of Networking and is an accomplished entrepreneur and recognized leader in the Oklahoma business community.  He co-founded Executive Marketing Information, a market research and consulting firm in 1994 and later purchased the company to become the sole owner. He remains active in the business world to benefit his students.

Dr. Smith is a Certified Marketing Executive, a Certified Quality Manager, and a Professional Certified Marketer. He was the first Oklahoman to earn the PCM designation and he is the only professional in the world to hold all three designations. He won national recognition as president of the American Marketing Association (AMA), and has served on the board of directors of the OKC Chamber of Commerce.  He was the founding Certification Chair of the Sales and Marketing Executives International, and is a board member for the National Speakers Association. He received a commendation for his work on Governor Frank Keating’s Small Business Commission. Dr. Smith is also a Champion Auctioneer and has helped raise over $550,000 for charities, causes, and ministries across Oklahoma and Texas.

In 2008, the board of directors of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the American Marketing Association recognized him with the first-ever “Member of the Year” award at its annual awards ceremony.  Dr. Smith is a National Chapter Excellence Award Winner, and was among 39 Oklahoma leaders honored in the Journal Record’s “Achievers Under 40” Centennial Class.  His academic interests include: organizational design, marketing management, strategy, small business, branding, and customer satisfaction.  Dr. Smith is the co-sponsor for the Marketing Student Advisory Council and the student AMA chapter.  He says he works at OC “Because I love serving the mission of transforming lives!” He and his wife Terri have a son, Dalton.  They are members of the Edmond Church of Christ.

Daniel Sorensen is a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years of corporate experience as an Auditor, Manager and Director in Accounting and Information Technology at Arthur Andersen & Company, General Dynamics, Oracle, Kelly Services and Toyota.  His time at General Dynamics included a three-year overseas assignment in Germany.  He taught Accounting and Finance at Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Michigan for five and a half years before coming to Oklahoma Christian University in the fall of 2011.  His research interests include accounting ethics and corporate governance.  He and his wife, Karen, have two children, Rachel and Heidi.  Prior to moving from Michigan to Oklahoma, Daniel and Karen worshipped at the Plymouth Church of Christ, where Daniel served as an Elder and as Treasurer.  Daniel and Karen now attend the Memorial Road Church of Christ.
