Department of Chemistry & Physics
Overview
OC’s Department of Chemistry & Physics features degree programs in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Forensic Science, and Science Education. Students benefit from our emphasis on undergraduate research in our state-of-the-art labs; over the past three years, 98% of OC science students who applied to medical school or graduate school were accepted.
Our graduates are employed by a wide variety of industries and organizations, including the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Oklahoma State Health Department, ConocoPhillips, General Electric, and others.
Our department’s quality is enhanced by the integration of faith and learning, in which we demonstrate that Science and Christianity are not only compatible, but mutually enhancing.
