Marilynne Robinson, Pulitzer Prize winner, was the keynote speaker at Oklahoma Christian's third-annual McBride Lecture for Faith & Literature in October.
Robinson's novel, Gilead, won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and the 2004 National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction.
Her 1980 novel, Housekeeping, won the PEN/Hemingway Award for First Fiction and the Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Award from the Academy of American Arts and Letters.
Robinson also is the author of influential nonfiction and essays. Her works have appeared in publications such as Harper's, Paris Review and The New York Times Book Review.
Robinson met with students in a variety of additional venues and formats during her visit to Oklahoma Christian.
Co-sponsors of Robinson's visit included the Oklahoma Humanities Council and the Oklahoma Scholarship-Leadership Enrichment Program (OSLEP) of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. An OSLEP seminar will be conducted with students from across the state during Robinson's visit.
