Political Science
Oklahoma Christian offers a major in Political Science (PS) for students interested in becoming lawyers, policy analysts, public administrators and public servants.
As a PS major, you will learn basic legal analysis with a focus upon the United States' legal system and social scientific analysis of democratic governance in an increasingly integrated global political economy. Political science courses form the core of the major, but you will also receive important instruction in economics and history.
We expect students completing the major to be well prepared for law school and many graduate programs in public policy, political science, public administration, and political management. We also expect many students to use the degree in entry-level public service careers such as legislative researchers, campaign workers, and employees of governmental agencies.
Our current majors find the PS major to be an enjoyable and useful academic program as they prepare for law school, intern for U.S. Representatives, assist in campaigns and work for city governments. Faculty Facts
Dr. Raymon Huston teaches courses in American Politics, International Relations, and Geography. He is academically interested in terrorism, and religion and politics. Dr. Huston is a member of the American Political Science Association, the Southwestern Political Science Association, and the Oklahoma Political Science Association.
