Department of Biology

The Department of Biology offers majors in Biology, Medical Technology, Nursing and Science Education.

We also prepare students for professional programs in dental hygiene, occupational or physical therapy and pharmacy. Our graduates have been highly successful in gaining admittance to medical, dental, veterinary, graduate and other professional programs all across the country.

We encourage our students to take advantage of our close proximity to the Oklahoma Medical Center where many of students conduct cutting edge biomedical research.

We also offer research opportunities on our own campus in laboratories that have state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated faculty members who mentor students one-on-one.

Faculty Profile

Dr. Xiao studies infectious eye diseases and cancer biology. She works at OC for the “Christian environment, great colleagues, and students.” Her husband is Sam Yang, and they have two children: Chris and Ethan. She attends Memorial Road Church of Christ.
