Interior Textiles, Materials, and Finishes
ARTS-1643: A study of interior textiles (fabrics and upholstery). Fabric content, properties, construction process, dyeing, and printing are examined. Basic building materials (wood, glass, metal, masonry, etc.) as well as wall coverings and hard floor treatments and their properties and uses will be addressed. Students will learn through case studies and examples to measure and figure correct amounts of materials to order. This course is normally offered in the spring semester.
