Printmaking: Intaglio and Relief

ARTS-3113: Designed to introduce you to the tools, history, and basic techniques of printmaking through the use of the etching press. Etching, drypoint, collograph, relief, and monotype techniques will be discussed. Students are encouraged to explore the problems and concerns of their own images technically through multiples and one-of-a-kind prints. A series of critiques, group discussions, research and information gathering assignments, lectures and demonstrations complement studio work. This course is normally offered in the fall semester
