2010-2011 Accomplishments
- Named a “Best in the West College” by the Princeton Review.
- Ranked 44th in the West by U.S. News and World Report’s “America's Best Colleges, 2011 Edition.”
- Recognized in the Center for Student Opportunity’s 2011 College Access & Opportunity Guide, which highlights supportive college environments for low-income, first-generation students. OC was one of just two colleges in the state to be selected.
- Interior Design program granted a six-year accreditation by the Council for Interior Design
Accreditation. OC is one of just three schools in the 111-school Council of Christian Colleges and
Universities to have an accredited interior design program.
Other Recent Accomplishments
- Named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
- Gaming and Animation program ranked among the top 50 programs in the nation by The Princeton Review and GamePro magazine.
- The History and Political Science department has had the top chapter of Phi Alpha Theta (the national history honor fraternity) in the nation among schools of our size for the past 15 years.
- An OC Art and Design alumna was the chief designer of visual and special effects for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
- First place in the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants' Campus Competition for the third time in the past four years.
- American Marketing Association chapter recognized for Excellence in Community Service at the International Collegiate Conference, beating out 175 other schools.
- Two Language & Literature students selected out of thousands of entries to have their work published in the English honor society journal, the Sigma Tau Delta Review.
- One of only two members of the CCCU with ABET accreditation for three engineering programs.
- 90% job placement rate for OC advertising design graduates.
- 100% medical and graduate school placement rate the past two years. Since 1996, 90% of all students who applied to a professional program were accepted.
- 100% job placement rate for OC engineering graduates with a 2.8 college GPA or higher.
- 100% job placement rate for OC education graduates.
- 100% grad school and law school placement for OC history and political science majors (since 2000).
