Alan Phillips

Vice President for Texas Operations

Alan Phillips, a 1976 Oklahoma Christian graduate, is OC’s Vice President for Texas Operations.

The San Antonio native served for 17 years in the development and president’s offices, and was OC’s Vice President for Development from 1987 to 1993. 

In 1994, he established Phillips Consulting, a fundraising consulting practice serving churches and church-related non-profit organizations. He began consulting with Missions Resource Network in 2000 and served as the organization's Vice President for Advancement and Administration.

Named OC’s College of Business Alumnus of the Year in 1998, Phillips was the founding chairman of OC’s North Texas Alumni Association in 2003 and the founding chairman of OC’s National Alumni Council in 2004.

He has helped make the North Texas Alumni Association OC’s most active alumni chapter. The organization has contributed more than $150,000 over the past nine years for north Texas students to attend Oklahoma Christian and hosts special events for current students, prospective students and alumni.

Alan and his wife Donna met as students at Oklahoma Christian, where Alan served as student body president. They have three children, Kristi Plumlee (a 2009 OC graduate), Jason and Anna. They live in Keller, Texas, and attend Lake Cities Church of Christ in Trophy Club, where Alan serves as an elder.

Carrie Hamilton

Assistant Director of Student Financial Services

Carrie Hamilton has worked in Student Financial Services at Oklahoma Christian since 1999. She has been OC’s Assistant Director of Student Financial Services since 2002. She and her husband Wes, a 1992 OC graduate, live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are actively involved in OC’s North Texas Alumni Association.

Carrie and Wes have been married for 16 years and have two children, Austin and Ally. They are members at Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, Texas, where Carrie teaches Sunday and Wednesday Bible classes and helps with Vacation Bible School.

Carrie enjoys scrapbooking, reading and watching sports, especially if it’s her daughter doing gymnastics or her son (or those Texas Ranger guys) playing baseball.

Jeremy Kenney

Texas Representative

Jeremy Kenney graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 2000 with a degree in Bible and Ministry. Responsible for recruiting students from north Texas to attend Oklahoma Christian, Jeremy brings over 10 years' experience in youth ministry to the OC recruiting team. Most recently, Jeremy served as the part-time youth minster at Shawnee Trail Church of Christ in Frisco, Texas, while also working as a middle school teacher in Denton. Jeremy and Amanda, also a 2000 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, have two sons, Derek and Noah.

Deanna Stephenson

Texas Representative

Deanna Stephenson is a 2000 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in Behavioral and Social Science. Responsible for recruiting students from north Texas to attend Oklahoma Christian, Deanna brings more than 10 years' experience in retail sales and management with J. Crew, Ralph Lauren, and Central Market prior to joining the OC recruiting team.

Deanna has two children, Houston (4 years) and Abigayle (8 months). She lives in Fort Worth, Texas, and is an active member of McDermott Road Church of Christ in Plano, where she has taught children's Bible classes.

Deanna enjoys spending time with her children and family, keeping in touch with friends, traveling, reading, baking, and shopping for antiques.

Jill Denton

Administrative Assistant

Jill Denton, a 1980 Oklahoma Christian graduate, is Administrative Assistant for the Texas office.

Jill has been working in the Frisco, Texas, Independent School District since 2003, most recently as the Campus Instructional Support Facilitator for Wakeland High School. She has a B.A. in Commercial Art from OC and a M.A. in School Counseling from Amberton University. She has been serving on the Board of the OC North Texas Alumni Chapter. Jill, and her husband, Tom ('81), have three grown children, including a son, who is a current student at OC.
