Every fulltime student and faculty member at Oklahoma Christian University receives a new Dell Latitude D600 wireless notebook computer. Oklahoma Christian is the only higher education institution in Oklahoma, and one of just a handful in the United States, that provides students, faculty and staff members with the technological convenience and advantage of being able to connect to the university network, check email and log on to the Internet from anywhere on campus - indoors or outdoors - and from off-campus in homes and businesses equipped with wireless networks.
After a thorough on-campus analysis, a leading expert in the field of technology integration into university curricula called Oklahoma Christian "the world leader in the use of laptops for in-classroom instruction." A vice chancellor from the Oklahoma State Board of Regents also said that OC excels above all other Oklahoma universities in computer-based learning.
When Oklahoma Christian first launched its wireless laptop program in August 2001, it became the first university in the state and one of the few nationwide to offer campus-wide wireless Internet and a laptop for each fulltime student.
