David Bowden graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 2010. His career as a spoken word poet has taken him throughout the USA and abroad. He’s written poems for Tom’s Shoes and for New York City film premieres. But his work is more than words. Through Give-A-Goat and Wishing Well, he’s helped poor families meet basic needs. Meagan Hawley (04) and Jana Miller (09) are serving vulnerable children and their families at The Haven in Namwianga, Zambia. The Haven provides temporary home-based care for infants and toddlers who don’t have a caretaker, often because their parents died. The Haven’s goal is to reunite children with a family member that can care for them. Meagan is The Haven’s medical advocate and development specialist and Jana is the family visit coordinator.
